You can expect your treatment instructions to include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Brushing and flossing thoroughly several times a day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using specialized tools to clean around and under your braces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoiding sticky, crunchy, sugary, and acidic foods and beverages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seeing your orthodontist regularly for checkups and adjustments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wearing elastics or headgear if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it can take significantly longer to shift an adult\u2019s teeth since their jaw tissues are more solidified.
